Happy New Year and What Happened Last Year
Hello All,
Happy New Year!
I hope everyone is healthy. I know it has been a very challenging time because of the pandemic. I was very busy last year with my company Girls Read to Write. I dug into it as a positive distraction and it was.
But, what I noticed is that running a company takes a lot of time and what I have been struggling with is balance. Not only do I have a business but I have a family too. My family consists of two teenagers in the home (Help Me, somebody) doing remote learning and a husband working from home since the onset of the pandemic. I have a little breather away from home because of a part-time job that I acquired in late 2019, Also, last year, I started working from home for Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Film Festival as the Festival Coordinator.
So, as you can see I have a lot of balancing to do!
But, somehow last year, I did have time to squeeze in some "writing life."
Poet NaQuel started a poetic trivia game show podcast called The PodPoets Lounge and he invited me to participate along with poets RL Tha Gifted 1 and Renaissance. RL Tha Gifted 1 won the trivia and I tied with Renaissance. It was a fun evening. Click on picture to hear or Download
Also, a couple of my Senryu poems and a Creative Nonfiction piece were accepted into a new journal by Sherese Francis called Jam Journal.

Finally, I released a new poetry book entitled Perfect Woman. A Perfect Woman is a collection the incorporates some older poems and newer ones. You can purchase it on Amazon. Click Here
Moving forward in 2021, I will continue to run Girls Read to Write, be Film Festival Coordinator for Reel Sisters, work my part-time job, and be a mother and a wife while writing and publishing books.
